iZotope Ozone V4 is a comprehensive mastering system with 10 modules, including spectral shaping, dynamic EQ, multi-band dynamics processing and more. Ozone 4 adds an improved interface that is easier to learn and use; new modules including Dialogue Denoiser; 64-bit support for the AAX DSP platform; streamlined workflow with drag & drop functionality; faster backup/restore times; sharper graphics on Retina displays. The plugins are designed to work together in an integrated mastering environment. Ozone 4 features five core modules for advanced post-processing: Mastering Equalizer, Multiband Dynamics, Multi-band Limiter, Parametric EQ and Exciter. In addition, it includes three modules to improve the stereo-image of the mix: Dialogue Denoiser, Dialog Leveler and Reverb; as well as a Spectrum Grabber tool for analyzing audio files. Mastering Equalizer with Spectrum Grabber, is a high-resolution analog-modeled 9-band equalizer. The plugin features a traditional EQ interface for precise control over frequency ranges and a 'grab' mode that allows instant access to any point on the spectrum. An optional Linear Phase mode provides better linear phase response at all frequencies, with less distortion occurring during complex equalization tasks. Multi-band Dynamics with Colour Control provides multi-band compression and expansion as well as four band joint stereo processing capabilities. The plugin is designed to perform the dynamics processing step in a mastering workflow, with bands that can be enabled or disabled as needed. The plugin also includes a "Colour" control that helps maintain the frequency balance of the audio, even during heavy compression. Multi-band Limiter is a high-resolution multi-band peak limiter with intelligent soft clipping. The innovative approach provides superior sound quality and a higher apparent loudness compared to traditional brickwall limiters. It also offers a new 'Aggressive' mode designed to preserve loudness and sound quality for competitive loudness requirements. Exciter improves audio fidelity by adding harmonics that were previously missing or too low in level for humans to hear. The plugin is analog modeled and features an intuitive user interface with controls for harmonic intensity, frequency, stereo width and mode. Dialogue Denoiser analyzes the incoming audio and identifies speech versus non-speech elements. It provides controls for aggressiveness, denoising parameters and allowing the user to adjust the amount of attenuation to match other denoising systems in use. Dialogue Leveler is a patent-pending new module designed specifically for dialogue enhancement. It employs a unique technique that preserves dialogue without adding artifacts or modifying other elements in the track.
